About Us
Student Union Inc. and Organizational Governance
The CSUB Student Union was established in 1994. The Student Union’s 17,000 sq. ft. of space is a mix of office suites, meeting rooms, food service, and a lounge for students. The meeting space provided within the Student Union is used primarily by student groups followed by departmental usage and finally by occasional off-campus groups. Costs to rent space within the Student Union are based on a three tiered schedule. Students pay the least amount, then departments, and off-campus groups pay the highest amount in order for the Student Union to recover actual costs. The Bookstore is not included in the 17,000 sq. ft. mentioned above. The Bookstore was an addition added after the Student Union was built and is currently operated by Follett. Coordination of building hours is a priority between the Student Union and Bookstore in order to ensure access and visibility for both organizations.
