Education:
Dr. Mouanoutoua received his PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. His dissertation revolved around the use of brief experiential analysis to identify math interventions for struggling students in middle school.
Teaching:
Dr. Mouanoutoua is an experienced instructor who has taught many courses in a credential program. He currently teaches courses in the first phase of our Education Specialist Credential Program and spearheads the internship pathway, where he supports university supervisors and builds capacity with our intern teachers through professional development opportunities.
Research:
One of Dr. Mouanoutoua’s research interests consists of identifying math interventions for struggling students. He has conducted research using both single subject experimental design and group experimental analysis. He has attended and presented at many state, national, and international conferences. His other research interests involve the study of BIPOC special education candidates in California, where he hopes to learn more about the recruitment and retention rate of diverse special educators from the golden state.

In addition, Dr. Wisman has also served as a high school biology teacher and department chair in public and private school contexts.

Dr. Jezelle Fullwood, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, is a California native and has
served in school districts within Los Angeles County for over two decades. She began her career as a
classroom teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District serving students in areas of high poverty. She became known for her ability to meet the diverse needs of all students refining her expertise in the area of researched based instructional strategies. Before becoming an administrator, Dr. Fullwood was Literacy Coach and Instructional Specialist, writing curriculum and delivering professional development to administrators and teachers across the United States.
During her administrative career, she has served as Coordinator of Staff Development, Assistant Principal and Principal of a Turnaround Intervention Model School, successfully managing a School Improvement Grant of $6 million. Her work in school improvement has been featured in the Texas Elementary Principal and Supervisors Association Journal and The National Center on Time and Learning.
Dr. Fullwood received a Bachelor of Science in Business and Management from Pepperdine University, a Master of Arts in Education with an Emphasis in Counseling from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and a Doctoral Degree from Brandman University of the Chapman University System.
Dr. Fullwood is a noted staff developer and consultant. In addition to local engagements, she is an
International Staff Developer for Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) and adjunct faculty member at California State University, Bakersfield.
She has chaired various events and committees including the Bridging the Achievement Gap Conference, the African American Advisory Committee and Honoring Community Heroes Annual Education Foundation Fundraising Event.
Dr. Fullwood is a member of the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), California
Association of African American Superintendents and Administrators (CAAASA), California Association
for Bilingual Education (CABE) and an active board member of the CLASS Education Foundation and the Santa Clarita Valley Education Foundation.

Dr. Ricardo Esquivel is a part-time lecturer in the Department of Advanced Educational Studies. In addition to working closely with aspiring school leaders, Dr. Esquivel serves as the Chief of Schools of Grow Public Schools, a network of TK-8 schools across Kern County. Dr. Esquivel attended the University of California at Santa Barbara where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Upon graduating from UCSB, Dr. Esquivel joined Teach For America—a national teaching corps that recruits college graduates across the country—to commit a minimum of two years to help close the educational gap in our nation’s most underserved schools. After realizing a strong need for passionate and empathetic educators, Dr. Esquivel decided to continue as a middle school science teacher, instructional coach and assistant principal in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Dr. Esquivel also served as the Founding Principal of Larchmont Charter Middle and High School—an academically high performing K-12 charter school whose mission is to serve a racially, ethnically, and socio-economically diverse group of students. Most recently, Dr. Esquivel served as Superintendent of the Elk Hills School District and Assistant Superintendent of the San Bernardino Unified School District. Dr. Esquivel holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Loyola Marymount University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from California State University, Northridge. Dr. Esquivel earned his doctorate degree from the University of Southern California.
