Coursework for the Multiple Subjects Credential

The SB 2042 Multiple Subject Credential Program is a CAEP and CCTC approved professional preparation program. This progrm prepares candidates to teach multiple subjects in a self-contained classroom (grades K-6). Candidates are prepared to meet the academic needs of English Learners through our English Language Development component (AB 1059). Courses are offered in the late afternoon, early evenings, and online. The program can be completed in one to two years.

The three semester program is the recommended path which is outlined below. If you wish to complete your program in two or four semesters, please make an appointment with an advisor.

  • EDEL 5300 (4) Classroom Management & Differentiated Instruction
  • EDTE 4350 (3) TPA Cycle One*
  • EDEL 5800 (4) Multiple Subject Clinical Practice
    • (required to enroll each semester until EDEL 5810)
     OR
  • EDTE 5800 (6) Intern/Resident Clinical Practice
    • (Interns are required to enroll each semester until EDTE 5810)

Stage II

  • EDEL 5400 (4) Interdisciplinary Social Studies
  • EDEL 5500 (4) Science Methods & Assessment
  • EDTE 4360 (3) TPA 3 Cycle Two*
  • EDEL 5810 (8) Multiple Subject Final Clinical Practice (Student Teaching)
     Or
  • EDTE 5810 (8) Intern/Resident Final Clinical Practice (Student Teaching)
