KEYNOTE SPEAKER:  Kathleen Moore (University of California, Santa Barbara).

The 14th annual CSUB Philosophy & Religious Studies Undergraduate Conference will be held Saturday, April 21th, 2018, on the campus of California State University, Bakersfield.  The conference provides a forum for the presentation of work by undergraduates in all areas of philosophical and religious studies.  Papers should be approximately 3,000 words (10-12 pages) and submitted electronically to Nate Olson, Assistant Professor of Philosophy, nolson@csub.edu.

Submission deadline is March 23, 2018.   Final decisions will be made by April 2nd.

    Paper sessions                                         1:00 - 5:00 p.m.

    Keynote address                                      5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

This year’s keynote speaker is Kathleen Moore, Chair of the Department of Religious Studies and Interim Director of the Capps Center for the Study of Religion, Ethics and Public Life at UC Santa Barbara.  Prof. Moore specializes in the study of Islam in the United States, and her publications address the intersection of Islam, law, identity, and gender.
