CSUB Accounting Professor, Di Wu, Receives Prestigious Global Award

CSUB’s School of Business and Public Administration is proud to announce that Dr. Di Wu has been selected by the Institute of Management Accountants for the prestigious R. Lee Brummet Distinguished Award for Educators for 2019. Dr. Wu is the second West Coast recipient of this prestigious global award from IMA, the first being from the University of Southern California.

Named for R. Lee Brummet, a former IMA president, the Brummet Award recognizes distinguished academicians in the area of management accounting. This prestigious award considers an educator’s achievements in the area of promotion of management accounting and financial management.

Dr. Di Wu is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at CSUB and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant. Dr. Wu also serves as an IMA Global Board Director, President-Elect of IMA’s Wild West Council, Member of Statewide Technology Committee of California Society of CPAs (CalCPA) and Chair of Technology Committee of CalCPA Bakersfield Chapter.

“Dr. Wu's achievements and engagement in the area of management accounting and financial management have been outstanding. I commend his volunteerism and leadership to our profession and to IMA. I believe that Dr. Wu will continue to make an impact on our profession and the CMA certification globally in a positive way,” said Christian Cuzick, Chair-Elect for IMA’s Global Board and Vice President of Finance for Johnson & Johnson Vision.

Lee Brummet Distinguished Award for Educators in 2019,” said Dr. Angappa “Guna” Gunasekaran, Dean of the School of Business and Public Administration. “This recognition clearly demonstrates his commitment to promote excellence in financial and management accounting. I am impressed with his outstanding leadership to the management accounting profession and to IMA.”

Dr. Wu will formally accept the award on June 16 at the IMA Annual Conference and Expo in San Diego.
