Registration for Rowdy Cart Race is Now Open

Do you have what it takes to be a champion? Come find out! Registration for the CSUB Rowdy Cart Race is now open! The School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering (NSME) is hosting the 2019 Rowdy Cart Race on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Science III Lawn.

Based on a popular video game, the Rowdy Cart Race includes an obstacle course as well as a speed course. This event is open to anyone in the community who is interested in participating. The competition will allow teams of individuals to compete based on the human-powered vehicle they design and create. Participants are encouraged to be creative, innovative and promote sustainability by using refurbished materials. Registration and rules can be found at

“NSME is very excited to host another year of this event, which gives our engineering majors a fun and exciting way to learn about the design process and teamwork,” said Dr. Andrea L. Medina, NSME Director of Grants and Outreach. “We hope this event expands and we see more community teams participating and competing against our students.”

Previously named the Kinetic Sculpture Competition, this event is made possible through its sponsor, Edison International, and partners American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) Student Branch at CSUB and Bakersfield Police Department.
