Kern County Bar Association Charitable Foundation, CSUB, Others Join for ‘The Defamation Experience’

The Kern County Bar Association Charitable Foundation, California State University, Bakersfield, and other community partners have joined forces for The Defamation Experience from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, in the Doré Theater on the CSUB campus.

Defamation, a play by Todd Logan, is more than just a play or production. It is an interactive diversity program with three components: a play, exploring issues of race, religion, gender, class and the law with a twist: the audience is the jury; deliberation and a post-show discussion.

“The play is free and open to the public. We are thankful to our community sponsors for bringing this event to CSUB,” said CSUB political science professor Dr. Jeanine Kraybill. “The play covers important issues many communities are dealing with, and it is an opportunity for us to engage them together.”

Other sponsors of the evening include: BeldenBlaine; Wood & Randall; Kern County College of Law; Keleher’s; CSUB Pre-Law Society; The Law Offices of David A. Torres; CSU Bakersfield’s Provost Office; Klein, DeNatale, Goldner Attorney’s at Law; Patrick E. Jennison, APLC; Esquire Desposition Solutions; and ACS Attorney’s Certified Services.

The Experience is a chance for the community to gather for important and engaging discourse about social issues in today’s world in a very real way. This Defamation Experience “courtroom drama” has celebrated seven years on tour.
