CSUB Music Program Presents Guitar Arts Series Featuring Johannes Möller and Laura Fraticelli

The Music Program at California State University, Bakersfield is pleased to announce the initial artists for the 8th Annual Guitar Arts Series. The Guitar Arts Series was started in 2010 by CSUB Professor Jim Scully as a way to expose local classical guitarists to world-class talents on the campus of CSUB.

On Sept. 21, Johannes Möller and Laura Fraticelli will present a duo concert of music by Mertz, duos by Argentinian composers, and original works by the performers. Johannes visited CSUB in 2012 as part of his Guitar Foundation of America Winner's Tour. That concert is still the largest attended guitar event at CSUB with over 120 attendees - a true standing-room-only crowd.

Noting the importance of the series, Scully said, “Witnessing high-quality live music is a great motivator to become the best musician you can be. It gives you a greater understanding of the musical world around you. I’m pleased to have the support of my colleagues in the Music and Theatre Department to be able to continue this important series for our students and our guitar-loving community!”

Each of the Guitar Arts concerts are held in Music Building, room 127, on the campus of CSU Bakersfield. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. on concert nights with the concerts beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are available now via (Search for “CSUB” on the homepage). Any remaining seats will be available at the door on the night of the show beginning at 6:45p.m.

Tickets are $15/general,  $10/senior, and $5/student.  Seating is limited to 90.
