Randy Schultz Named Permanent Dean of CSU Bakersfield Antelope Valley Center

Dr. Randy Schultz, an educator at California State University, Bakersfield for the past 11 years, has been appointed permanent Dean of CSUB’s Antelope Valley Center, CSUB Provost Jenny Zorn announced.

Schultz has served as Interim Dean at the CSUB Antelope Valley Center for the past 20 months.  He also has served CSUB as a faculty member in Teacher Education and as a grant coordinator.  He has been the principal investigator for several grants totaling about $20 million. During his 32-career in education, Dr. Schulz also has been a sixth-grade teacher, a principal, vice principal, and administrator with the Kern County Superintendent of Schools.

“I am pleased to appoint Randy Schultz as Dean of the CSU Bakersfield Antelope Valley Center,” Zorn said. “He has served as Interim Dean of the Center for nearly two years and has worked to establish strong partnerships with the community college, Antelope Valley College, and the community.   In collaboration with the CSUB campus, he will work on strengthening the existing programs offered at the Center and developing the strategic plan for the future.”

“It’s an honor to serve the talented faculty, dedicated staff, and excellent student body at the Antelope Valley Center,” Schultz said. “I look forward to continuing to work with the Antelope Valley community and CSUB leadership to continue to build on the Center’s success. The Antelope Valley is ripe with potential, and it is up to us to continue to create higher education opportunities for the people of area.”

The CSU Bakersfield Antelope Valley Center offers six undergraduate and five graduate degree programs.  The School of Social Sciences and Education also provides the teacher credential offerings in multiple subjects, single subject, and special education.  There are two degree programs fully online: the Masters in Public Administration and MA degree in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction.
