CSUB Opera Theatre Presents An Evening of Opera Scenes

The California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) Music Department has presented several productions over the past year, and the live music continues as the CSUB Opera Theatre presents ‘An Evening of Opera Scenes’ on Friday, December 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Doré Theatre.

The evening will feature a variety of musical selections including, “Don Giovanni” by Mozart; “Bon Appétit!” by Hoiby; “Cinderella” by Massenet; “Carousel” by Rodgers; and “Street Scene” by Weil. Current music and non-music majoring students who range from freshmen to seniors will play the arrangements. Students will also be joined on stage by recent alumni, area high school teachers and CSUB’s own Voice Faculty member, Rebekah Barton.

“There really is something for everyone to enjoy. The students have worked very hard to put together a truly noteworthy performance. There has been a considerable amount of time and energy put into making this happen. I couldn’t be more proud of the entire cast. We welcome the entire community to join us for a wonderful evening.” said CSUB Opera Theatre Director, Soo- Yeon Park.

Ticket information: General admission is $10; seniors/students are $5 and CSUB students with IDs get in free. Parking is free in Lots B and C. For more information regarding the Opera Theatre, contact Dr. Soo-Yeon Park at
