The Bakersfield Business Conference Returns to CSUB

The Borton Petrini, LLP Bakersfield Business Conference is returning to California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) for the 2016 event on October 8, where it has been held since 1992. Guests from all 50 states are expected to attend this year’s conference.

"Our attendees consistently tell us that they consider the outdoor, patriotic picnic-like atmosphere at CSU Bakersfield one of the most enjoyable aspects of the Bakersfield Business Conference.  The administration and faculty members are flexible and creative in planning to make our attendees feel comfortable at the event.  The attention to detail the security team provides leaders from around our nation, and the world, the confidence they need to address the crowds,” said attorney, George Martin.

This year's Bakersfield Business Conference will feature over 35 keynote speakers including former presidential candidates Rick Perry and Ben Carson, sports heroes Magic Johnson and Lou Holtz, award-winning entertainers Diane Keaton and Vicki Lawrence, and America's top-rated journalists and political strategists, such as, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, James Carville, Herman Cain, Bill Press and Dan Walters. More than 15 Olympic legends and political leaders, such as Los Angeles Mayor and 2018 California gubernatorial frontrunner, Antonio Villaraigosa, will also be ready to greet attendees.

Besides the highly-acclaimed speakers, there are more than 30 acres outside of the main tent with activities, such as the Honky Tonk, where legendary songwriters and local favorites will perform throughout the day, the Stars & Stripes Arcade, which will allow guests to meet the iconic speakers and get their books signed and the Olympic Corner past Olympians will share their stories of bringing home their gold medals. Other conference activities will include a Carousel, sports tent and Farmer’s Market, where guests can peruse and take complimentary snacks from California’s Central Valley farmers.

“Even though we know our attendees will enjoy this year's ‘election year presentation’ of the Bakersfield Business Conference, we anticipate that thousands of the attendees will also spend a great deal of time outside our speaker tents enjoying our all-day music stage including an evening concert with Chubby Checker and enjoying all-you-can eat ice cream,” said Communications Director, Brandon Martin.

Over the years, the CSUB grounds and the Bakersfield Business Conference have hosted former presidents, world leaders, Olympians and sports heroes. Since 1985, the Conference has continued to grow to the successful, world-class event that it has become today, with over 9,000 people in attendance. Past speakers have been some of the best in the entertainment industry, including music superstars, Reba McEntire, Dionne Warwick and Sheena Easton, as well as comedians Jay Leno, Phyllis Diller and Bob Hope.

“CSUB is very excited to once again be hosting such a prominent and outstanding event on our campus. We look forward to hosting many world leaders and entertainers this year and anticipate that it will be well-received by the Bakersfield community and those visiting for the conference,” said President Horace Mitchell.

This year’s Bakersfield Business Conference is almost sold out, with only a few reserved and general admission tickets left. Reserved tickets will include a seat in the “big tent” with access to all the venues throughout the conference, along with food and refreshments. General admission tickets are at a lower cost and does not reserve a seat in the main tent, but on a rather a first-come, first-served basis. This is a great option if guests are not able to attend each speaker’s presentation. Tickets can be purchased at
