CSUB Announces Honeywell Chairman and CEO Dave Cote as Next Distinguished Speaker

California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) is pleased to announce Dave Cote as the third speaker in CSUB’s Distinguished Speaker Series. Cote is Chairman and CEO of Honeywell, a $40 billion diversified technology and manufacturing leader that serves customers worldwide. The event will be held April 4, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Icardo Center.

“The purpose of the CSU Bakersfield Distinguished Speaker Series is to bring individuals to the University and community whose achievements have earned national and international significance,” said Dr. Horace Mitchell, President of CSUB. Cote follows inaugural speaker Elon Musk, co-founder of PayPal, and CEO of Tesla Motors and SpaceX, and J. Patrick Doyle, President and CEO of Domino’s Pizza.

During Cote's fourteen years of leadership, Honeywell has delivered strong results. More than 50 percent of the company’s sales are outside the U.S., and the company’s approximately 130,000 employees, including more than 22,000 scientists and software engineers. They are all focused on developing innovative products and solutions that help Honeywell’s customers – and their customers – improve performance and productivity with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; turbochargers; and performance materials.

The CSU Bakersfield Distinguished Speaker Series Advisory Committee is composed of campus and community members, along with U.S. Congressman and Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy serving as honorary chair. As a CSUB alumnus (’89, ’94), McCarthy continues to support his alma mater and community by collaborating with partners of the University to enhance its programs through initiatives such as the Distinguished Speaker Series. Congressman McCarthy will be in attendance for this signature event at the University.

This event is free and open to the public; however, reservations are required. Please RSVP to with the number of attendees and note “Distinguished Speaker Series” in the subject line.
