CSUB to Hold Annual Bakersfield's Got Talent

Have you ever dreamed of being on a musical TV reality show, singing your heart out, waiting for a chair to turn around and sky rocket you to fame? If you love to sing, dance and perform, consider auditioning for Bakersfield’s Got Talent, an open talent competition for all ages in the Bakersfield community. California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) will be holding their Bakersfield’s Got Talent competition in conjunction with the 10th Annual Celebrate CSUB Day on April 23 from 11 1 p.m. on the Student Union Patio.

This event is calling for all singers, groups, bands, dancers and instrumentalists. However, other talents are welcomed. The first round of auditions will take place on Saturday, April 9 at 7 p.m. and the semi-finals on Saturday, April 16 at 5 p.m. in the CSUB Music Building, Choir Room. Sound system and microphones will be provided by CSUB. This is a family-friendly event.

The best of the best will advance to the finals, to be held on April 23, during the 10th Annual Celebrate CSUB event. This will present an excellent opportunity for those in the community to showcase their talents in front of a live audience for a chance to win awesome prizes, including $1,000.

“I think Bakersfield’s Got Talent has been a success in that it has given our community at-large an opportunity to showcase their talents like never before,” said Arthur Smith, Spirit Coordinator and Chair for Bakersfield’s Got Talent. “Performing in front of a live audience during Celebrate CSUB is a unique way to demonstrate the talent of Bakersfield and I believe people enjoy participating.”
