Bakersfield Mini Maker Faire to Be Held at CSUB

California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) is proud to announce the first Bakersfield Mini Maker Faire, the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth, which will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m in the Student Union.

The call for Makers at Bakersfield's 2016 Mini Maker Faire is now open for tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students and entrepreneurs to show their projects.

The Maker Faire, sponsored by Chevron, is a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement. People of all ages and backgrounds can gather together to show what they are making and share what they are learning. It is a movement that has been celebrated around the world, with over 131 Faires in 2014 and over 1.5 million attendees globally since it launched in San Mateo, California, in 2006, less than a year after the publication of the first Make: Magazine in 2005.

This family-friendly event will be free and open to the public. Tickets will be required and can be printed from the website. Parking is free in lots J, K1, K2 and L, which are located off of Kroll and Don Hart Drive.
