New Student Housing Spaces Available for Fall

California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) announces that limited space is still available in student housing for Fall 2015.

CSUB's new residence halls, Student Housing East, opened on January 2, 2015. Students now have the opportunity to enjoy campus life in an attractive, contemporary environment. The new housing complex is a welcome addition for CSUBís increasing enrollment. The new space offers greater flexibility and privacy for enrollment. The new space offers greater flexibility and privacy for on-campus residents and is reflective of the Universityís commitment to excellence in the quality of the student experience. 

Crystal Becks, CSUB Director of Student Housing, describes the complex as a “state of the art amenity, which is sure to appeal to todayís students and their parent[s]. Research shows students who live on campus are more likely to successfully matriculate.”

The new three-building complex is home to two four-story all-suite residential buildings and a single-story Residence Life Community Center, which includes the Housing Administrative Offices. Each of the 113 suites of the 500-bed facility is furnished and includes a common room and bedrooms with a suite exclusive restroom. Also included are a bed, desk, chair and dresser for each student and a microwave/fridge combination to share. Fees for each of the spaces, whether in a single, double or triple suite, include utilities, capable Wi-Fi and meal plans. The community center and administrative offices include amenities such as key card security access, a game room, laundry facility, mail center, catering kitchen, multi-use space as well as classrooms and resident-exclusive group study rooms.
