Guitarist Vladimir Gorbach comes to CSUB on April 11, 2013

The CSUB Guitar Arts Series ( is pleased to present the 2012 Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) International Concert Artist Competition winner - Vladimir Gorbach. Mr. Gorbach will visit CSUB for a recital on April 11, 2013. Hosting the GFA winner is the highlight of each CSUB Guitar Arts Season, and this program will feature music by Mauro Giuliani, Domenico Scarlatti, Dionisio Aguado, Astor Piazzolla and others! The concert begins at 7:30 PM in the Music Building, room 127 on the CSUB campus.

Tickets are $12 for general admission, $8 for seniors (60+) and $5 for and student with ID, and can be purchased at the door on the night of the event or reserved by calling 661-654-2511. Seating is limited to 100 - so please call to reserve your seat now. This event will sell out.

Internationally acclaimed Russian guitarist Vladimir Gorbach has captivated audiences across the world on stages in Austria, Australia, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, Spain and Turkey in addition to the United States and his native country of Russia as soloist and with orchestra.

As the first place winner of more than 10 of the most important international competitions including Serbia, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Greece, and Italy, his most recent win at the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America's International Concert Artist Competition has earned him a more than 50-city concert tour of the US, Mexico, and Canada. Additional concerts are scheduled in Brazil and China.

Jim Scully, Director of the CSU Bakersfield Guitar Program said, "The CSUB guitar students, and all Bakersfield guitarists look forward to this time of year knowing a major artist will perform. We are very excited to present Mr. Gorbach. He is an artist of great stature and unending expression. It is an honor to host him as our concluding concert for season three of the CSU Bakersfield Guitar Arts Series."
