Is the California Dream Out of Reach in Kern County?

California State University, Bakersfield and the Pat Brown Institute at CSU Los Angeles will host an active forum on how well the ladder of opportunity is working in Kern County.  Educators and community members will discuss the role that higher education must play in promoting opportunity for all.

For generations, “the California Dream” has meant the opportunity for all people to rise as high as their talents and determination can take them, often through access to a great system of public education. In this frank and open discussion, with opportunities for audience questions, educators and community members will discuss this issue so critical for our lives and for the dreams of our children.

“This will be a dynamic forum on the role higher education plays in our county's hopes for the future.” Said Dr. Horace Mitchell, President CSU Bakersfield.
