Our Programs
School Year Program
Participants of the Mini-Corps Program are assigned to provide tutorial services to migrant children in classrooms throughout the regular school year.
- Participants will be placed in a migrant impacted classroom to serve as a teacher assistant.
- Participants will provide direct instructional services to migrant students.
- Participants will serve as a bilingual role models to migrant students and encourage migrant students to continue in school.
- Participants will help classroom teachers to better understand the migrant child and his/her culture.
- Participants will help provide a communication link between the migrant students, their parents, their teachers and the school.
Program Forms
Summer Program
Indoor
Mini-Corps participants are assigned to work as teacher assistants during migrant summer school.
Outdoor
Mini-Corps participants live at various camp sites. They serve as bilingual instructors, naturalists, and advisors to the migrant students.
Puppetry
Mini-Corps participants use puppets as a vehicle for creative instruction in the following areas: anti- bullying, water safety,hygiene and self-esteem.
