Our Purpose at MAGEC
The Multicultural Alliance and Gender Equity Center (MAGEC) is a division of Student Affairs that aims to uplift, validate and support students of all cultural backgrounds, religious beliefs, sexual orientations, and gender identities.

Jai's Library
A safer, softer place
A library dedicated to the late Jai Bronstein, a trans woman and CSUB student. The
books consist of Gender or Sexuality affirming books, Queer history, Abolition, and
more! Jai's library is located at MAGEC in the PRIDE (2SLGTBIA+) Student Lounge, Room
115.
MAGEC Student Lounges
MAGEC is home to student organizations that represent the interests of various student demographics and communities on campus. MAGEC facilitates cooperation between all our student organizations, creating a network of student involvement and support. Currently, the student lounges housed in MAGEC include:
- Religious and Spiritual Student Lounge, Room 112
- PRIDE (2SLGTBQIA+) Student Lounge, Room 115
- BIPOC (Black and Indigenous People of Color) Student Lounge, Room 114
- Prayer and Meditation Room, Room 104
Campus Advocate
MAGEC is also home to CSUB's Campus Advocate. The Campus Advocate and Education Coordinator provides individualized, compassionate and confidential emotional and decision making support to CSUB students, staff and faculty who have experienced Sexual Misconduct. All services are free. A victim/survivor's identity will not be disclosed without their permission.

MAGEC is located in Student Housing West, Rohan Building. We are next to Parking Lot E and close to the Kegley Center for Student Success, CSUB Counseling Center, and Academic Advising and Resource Center (AARC). If you need assistance locating the center, please feel free to give us a call at (661) 654-3530 and we will help direct you.
