After you applied on calstateapply, gather the following documents:

  1. Affidavit of Financial Support

(if you are on a government scholarship, you still need to fill out this form-list your government as your sponsor)

  1. Original Bank Certification Letter

-Bank statement in ENGLISH reflecting $29,000 in you or your sponsor’s account

  1. Official Transcripts

First time freshman need to provide transcripts for high school, lower division transfers (with less than 60 units) need to provide all high school and college/university transcripts, upper division transfers and graduate students need to provide all college/university transcripts 

*-*-*High School (high school transcripts must be in English & indicate proof of graduation) Must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher

*-*-*-ALL college/university – Must have an overall GPA of 2.4 or higher

*-*-*Any transcript from a college/university outside of the USA will require a course by course analysis. This can be done with a company such as: www.wes.org . Please contact WES directly for instructions and costs.*-*-*

  1. English Proficiency Requirements:

Please Note: These requirements are new for the Spring 2019 semester intake period. They differ from previous semesters.  If you have applied in past semesters, including Fall 2018, you must meet these new English Proficiency Requirements before you will be admitted to CSUB.  

First Time Freshman must submit one of the following:

-       TOEFL= Minimum score of 61 ibt

-       IELTS= Minimum 6.0 Band Score, otherwise, 5.5 Band Score with 5.5 in each section

-       SAT with a score of 550 or higher in the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing Section

Transfer Students (Lower Division transfer students with less than 60 college/university credits and Upper Division transfer students with more than 60 college credits) must submit one of the following:

-       TOEFL=61 ibt

-       IELTS= Minimum 6.0 Band Score, otherwise, 5.5 Band Score with 5.5 in each section

-       SAT with a score of 550 higher in the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing Section

-       College level English course with a grade of C or higher if the following criteria have been met:           

  • Must have completed all the Golden Four subject areas with a grade of C or higher.  If you are not sure if you completed the Golden Four please contact your academic advisor at your current instituion
    • Golden four include
      • Oral Communication
      • Written Communication
      • Critical Thinking
      • Mathematic concepts and quantative reasoning

If you have not completed all Golden Four subject areas you must submit either TOEFL, IELTS, or SAT scores.  There are no exceptions to this policy.

        7. *Graduate Students Only*

Contact the Graduate Student center (GSC) for specific requirements (such as GRE, GMAT, letters of recommendation, etc). The GSC webpage can be found at: http://www.csub.edu/graduatestudentcenter/ 

If you are transferring from another school in the U.S.: you will also need an F-1 Transfer Eligibility Form. You can find it here.

CSU Bakersfield will not return any documents? submitted by a student. If you have only one copy of your academic documents, please, send photocopies of your original academic documents to your? former university or authorized institution and ask that they stamp the documents with a university seal attesting to its authenticity.
