CSUB Culture of Assessment

Establishing a culture of assessment is a critical goal for implementing and maintaining a continuous process of improvement of CSUB’s teaching and learning practices. Assessment efforts are overseen by a team of five Faculty Assessment Coordinators (FACs), one for each School and one for the General Education program, with support from the Office for Institutional Research, Planning, and Assessment (IRPA). This team offers regular professional development workshops and produces a bi-annual newsletter, Context and Meaning, featuring examples of how individual programs use assessment data to improve student learning.
