CSUB Student Health Services: Antelope Valley

Who's Eligible:

All students currently enrolled in CSUB classes are eligible for care at Student Health Services (SHS). In addition, students who are not enrolled during the current semester but were enrolled in the previous semester and intend to enroll in the next semester may be seen during the unenrolled semester for a fee.

Students enrolled in "Extended University" will need to pay the student health fee before their first appointment each semester. All students are asked to show current CSUB ID (or other photo ID) at the time of each visit.

When Can I Access Services?

Please call (661) 952-5064 during the following hours for help with scheduling an appointment, first aid, immunization clearances and questions related to available services:

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM 
No medical services from 12 - 1 PM

*In-person appointments only currently available at the Bakersfield location*

What Services Are Provided?

Basic Services include:

  • Evaluation and counseling for individual health problems
  • Family planning and gynecological health care for women
  • Sexually transmitted infection information and treatment
  • Preparation and maintenance of medical records
  • First aid for injuries on campus
  • Blood pressure screenings
  • Telehealth appointments

Services that require an additional fee:

  • Elective physical exams
  • Pap smears
  • Immunizations--including TB skin tests
  • Extended University Students
  • Summer visits

Services Not Provided

  • SHS provides NO EMERGENCY SERVICES at either location. If you have an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
  • There are no after-hours or on-call services available at SHS.
  • Treatment of major illnesses, injuries, or accidents that require either hospitalization or long-term follow-up is also not available at SHS.


CSUB does not offer medical insurance to students. Students are encouraged to enroll in an individual medical insurance plan to cover off campus medical care, emergencies and/or hospitalization. Click here for information on insurance options.
