Geology Seminar Series
Each semester the Department of Geological Sciences invites guest speakers to present their research in a free, open to the public seminar series. The series is one way to provide our students with an intellectual introduction to science outside the walls of the department and promote a research culture internally. Guest speakers include research scientists, professionals within the science community and professors from CSUB and from other colleges and universities across the nation. The seminar topics cover a broad range of geology including mining, petroleum, climate science, hydrogeology, planetary geology, natural hazards, ocean sciences and State licensure. The seminar series engages our students to think critically, introduces them to cutting edge research and promotes their awareness to professional careers available to them after graduation and beyond. Please see the schedule below or our calendar, for a list of dates, speakers and their topics.
