Program Description

The Early Start program is an opportunity for incoming CSUB freshmen to complete two of their required courses before the Fall 2021 semester begins! All classes and support services will be offered virtually!

All CSUB Early Start students will complete courses based on the invitation they received. Students will take CSUB 1029, First Year Seminar, and an English, Math, or Psychology course.

I need to take an English class for Early Start. Which classes should I take?

You would take CSUB 1029 - First Year Seminar and English 1100 - Reading and Writing in College.


I need to take a Math Class for Early Start and I am a SSE major. Which classes should I take?

You would take CSUB 1029 - First Year Seminar and PSYC 2018 - Introduction to Psychology Stats.

SSE Majors are Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Kinesiology, Political Science, Pre-Law, Psychology, Sociology, and Child, Adolescent, & Family Studies.

 


I need to take a Math Class for Early Start and I am a BPA major. Which classes should I take?

You would take CSUB 1029 - First Year Seminar and MATH 2200 - Introduction to Statistical Concepts and Methods.

BPA Majors are Agricultutal Business, Applied Studies, Business Administration, Economics, Environmental Resource Management, and Public Policy & Administration.

 

 

 


I need to take a Math Class for Early Start and I am a NSME major. Which classes should I take?

You would take CSUB 1029 - First Year Seminar and MATH 1010 - Fundamental Concepts.

NSME Majors are Biochemistry Biology, Chemistry, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Sciences, Geology, Human Biological Sciences, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Physics.


I need to take a Math Class for Early Start and I am an A&H Major, a Nursing major, or I have not declared a major. Which classes should I take?

You would take CSUB 1029 - First Year Seminar, MATH 1209 - Statistics in the Modern World, and MATH 952 - Statistics in the Modern World Supplement.

A&H Majors are Art & Art History, Communications, English, History, Spanish, Music, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Theatre.


I need to take a Math Class for Early Start and I am a Liberal Studies major. Which classes should I take?

You would take CSUB 1029 - First Year Seminar and MATH 3120 - Geometry, Probability and Statistics for Preservice Elementary Teachers.
