Apply

Students are eligible for commencement by having an approved graduation application on file with the Office of the Registrar.

Commencement RSVP

The process is as follows:

  • Saturday, April 17, graduates will receive an email from commencement@csub.edu to watch for their RSVP email the following week with additional information from questions that have been received since the announcement.
  • The RSVP email sometimes goes into students' email clutter/junk folder. Please check all email folders.
  • If you don't receive a RSVP email by Friday, April 23, email commencement@csub.edu and the commencement office will check for your name on the graduates' lists. Please include your name, student ID, and major.
  • RSVP reservations will be open until Friday, April 30

Ceremony Assignments

  • The commencement office will then review the RSVP numbers for each major and assign the majors to a ceremony date/time.
  • This will take a few days to review, consults with the CSUB Schools, and assign the ceremonies.
  • We anticipate this process will be completed by Wednesday, May 5.
  • Graduates will receive an email after this process has been completed to login to download their name/reader card for their ceremony and their guest tickets which will have their assigned ceremony date/time.

General Ceremony Information

  • The first set of ceremonies will be for the Class of 2021 between the dates of Thursday, May 20 - Saturday, May 22.
  • The second set of ceremonies will be for the Class of 2020 between the dates of Saturday, May 22 - Sunday, May 23.
