The Counseling Center provides psychological counseling and consultation services to students enrolled at CSUB and CSUB Antelope Valley campuses. The Center helps students with personal, academic, and career concerns, utilizing a short-term therapy model. The primary goal of counseling is to help students develop the personal awareness and skills necessary to overcome problems and to grow and develop in ways that will allow them to take advantage of the educational opportunities at the university. Students may utilize up to six individual sessions per semester or unlimited group therapy (when available). Counseling is provided at no extra cost to the student.  Counseling is confidential.

Services Offered:

  • Brief Individual Therapy.
  • Group Therapy. Groups focus on various areas of concern.
  • Workshops. Workshops focus on skill development.

During your first appointment, a counselor will meet with you to discuss your concerns. At the end of the session, the most beneficial options will be reviewed with you.
