CSUB-AV Financial Aid and Scholarships

The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships administers many financial aid programs, which enable students without adequate finances to attend the University. Staff members are available and eager to provide information and guidance concerning the financial aid application and delivery process.

There are four kinds of financial aid available to CSUB students:

  • grants (free money you don't pay back)
  • loans (that you pay back after graduation)
  • work-study (from working on campus as a student assistant)
  • scholarships (that you apply to each one separately).

With the exception of some academic scholarships, most funds are awarded on the basis of financial need. Most students are eligible for loans. A student's first step in the financial aid application process is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships home page has additional information concerning the financial aid application and delivery process. The home page provides information about how to apply, types of aid, downloadable forms, requirements, award determination, processing timelines, financial aid questions, links to other financial aid sources and scholarship searches, how to contact the office, and Financial Aid Highlights, which is a periodic electronic news update.

Please note that the AV campus does not have a Financial Aid Office but a representative does visit once a month to meet with students face to face. AV students can also receive assistance daily by contacting the main campus office listed below.
