CSUB-AV Academic Advising

The first step after being admitted to CSUB-AV is to attend a mandatory orientation. Once you receive your orientation letter in the mail please return the registration form with your $30 check or money order to the school in the return envelope provided. At that point you will need to meet with an academic advisor before orientation to get an educational plan and register for classes. At Orientation students will receive information about student services, help with navigating the MyCSUB system, a campus tour, student ID, and campus gear as well as a take-home packet of reference materials.

Students are urged to be CSU General Education certified prior to applying and attending CSUB-AV. All prerequisites and general education requirements must be taken at a community college. Students can make an appointment with an academic advisor in order to confirm General Education completion as well as make sure all the prerequisites for their major have been met. Students are REQUIRED to meet with an advisor at least once in an academic year to ensure they are on track for their personal graduation requirements. If you have any questions regarding the programs offered at CSUB-AV feel free to visit our Academic Programs page or contact the front desk at (661) 952-5000.

CSUB Antelope Valley has the University catalog available for purchase at the front desk for $10.00 cash or check only. The schedule of classes is usually available two weeks preceding registration and can be found online by logging into your myCSUB account. For more information regarding advising, forms, dates and deadlines, and all other advising inquiries please visit the Academic Advising and Resource Center home page here
