CSUB Alumni Association Now Accepting Applications For Alumni Hall of Fame

June 28, 2018 — The California State University, Bakersfield Alumni Association is accepting nominations for its CSUB Alumni Hall of Fame, which recognizes alumni who have distinguished themselves in their career; volunteered their time, talent, and/or money to benefit their community; and brought honor to their alma mater.

Any member of the public may submit a nomination. A committee of CSUB Alumni Association board members, university faculty and a president’s designee will select inductees. To qualify, nominees must have:

    •       Received an earned or honorary degree from CSUB five or more years prior to selection;

    •       A proven track record of success in their careers;

    •       Had a history of positive contributions to the community and previous recognition through awards; and

    •       Displayed support for higher education, including involvement with CSUB.

 “The Alumni Hall of Fame aims to showcase the extraordinary accomplishments and contributions of CSUB graduates,” said Sarah Hendrick, director of the CSUB Office of Alumni Engagement. “We invite university friends to nominate these exceptional alumni, whether they’ve had an inspiring career, a life dedicated to community service or are an avid supporter of higher education. CSUB alumni are making an impact around the world, and we want to share their amazing stories.”

The 2018 inductees were Jeremy Adams, a Bakersfield High School civics teacher; Bryan Burrow, chief operations officer of Sierra School Equipment Co.; Edward Paine, a businessman and owner of California Ivy League Preparatory Academy; and Debbie Wood, school health coordinator for the Bakersfield City School District.

Nominations for the 2019 Alumni Hall of Fame class are due by Monday, Sept. 3, 2018.

Applications are available at Honorees will be named this November and honored during a black-tie gala in February 2019.

The mission of the CSUB Alumni Association is to promote the university’s mission of educational excellence by engaging and connecting alumni, students, campus partners and the community through membership, mentoring and scholarship opportunities.
