Two double alumni are joining the CSUB Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Jacqui Kitchen, development services director for the City of Bakersfield, and Ryan Drakos, accounting manager at Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds, will join the board July 1.

Kitchen earned a bachelor’s degree in history, with a minor in economics, in 2006 and a master’s degree in public administration in 2014. She was named a Rising Runner, an exceptional alumna of the last 10 years, in 2016.

Drakos earned a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2013 and a master’s degree in business administration in 2016. He was named a Rising Runner earlier this year.

“I am excited for Jacqui and Ryan – two of CSUB’s finest graduates – to join us on the Alumni Association Board of Directors,” said Justin Salters, Alumni Association president-elect. “I look forward to putting their energy, passion and enthusiasm to use as we continually seek to expand opportunities for alumni engagement.”

Three directors are leaving the board after years of dedicated service: Siri Ved Kaur Khalsa, Carol Sherrill and Kevin Crosby.

The CSUB Alumni Association represents more than 50,000 alumni worldwide. Its mission is to engage and connect alumni, students, campus partners and the community through events, scholarship opportunities and mentoring. It offers scholarships to CSUB alumni pursuing their graduate degree on campus and in 2018 launched a mentoring program that pairs up CSUB alumni and other professionals with current students who need help with such things as networking, job interviewing and resume writing.
