Admitted Students

Congratulations on your offer of admission (including provisional) to California State University, Bakersfield for the Fall 2021 semester! Here are a couple of things you're going to need to know as you navigate through the admissions process.

So, now that you are admitted to CSUB what do you do next?


Open All/Close All

Step 1: Log in to myCSUB and submit your Intent to Enroll

  • Log into myCSUB
  • Click the "Confirm your Intent to Enroll" link in the To-Do section

Please be sure to submit your Intent to Enroll by May 1, 2021. By submitting your Intent to Enroll. After you submit your Intent to Enroll, you'll receive additional information on orientation, advising, and registration.

Step 2: Apply for Housing (If applicable)

Please visit the housing website for details on housing opportunities, the application process, deadline dates, room types, and room availability.


Step 3: Submit Official Transcripts

Official transcripts are required to validate your eligibility for admission and to provide credit for transferable courses (transfer students). 
Review your to-do list on myCSUB on what to submit. You may be required to send in official in-progress transcripts (if not already done so) and official final transcripts from institutions previously attended or are currently attending.

Transcripts may be:

  • Submitted electronically from the sending institution to the email incomingtranscripts@csub.edu
  • Ordered through a transcript sending service - check with your campus Admissions & Records office
  • Mailed to:

                         California State University, Bakersfield

                         Bakersfield, CA  93311-1022

*Note: Transcripts submitted by the applicant are considered unofficial. Screenshots, photos, images taken from a camera phone, etc. of transcripts are not acceptable as an official transcript. 

IMPORTANT:

For transfers: General Education (GE) and 60+ units must be completed by Spring 2021. Final transcripts are due July 15, 2021, with all grades posted to clear admission for the Fall 2021 semester. Note: If, after validation and verification of your final transcripts you do not meet eligibility, your offer of admission may be revoked and courses enrolled for the Fall 2021 term canceled. 

For incoming high school freshmen: Final transcripts are due July 15, 2021, with all grades and high school graduation posted to clear admissions for the Fall 2021 semester. Note: If, after validation and verification of your final transcripts you do not meet eligibility, your offer of admission may be revoked and courses enrolled for the Fall 2021 term canceled. 


Step 4: Register for New Student Orientation

An invitation will be emailed to you once you have confirmed and submitted your Intent to Enroll: 

  • You must confirm and submit your Intent to Enroll
  • Mandatory New Student Orientation fee is separate from other deposits, registration fees, and tuition

Step 5: Registration

Advising and registration for the Fall 2021 semester will begin on June 15, 2021 for Transfers and July 15th, 2021 for First Time Freshmen. Stay tuned for messages that will come from the campus or the academic school of your major on scheduling an advising appointment.

In order to become eligible for an academic advising appointment, you must:

  • Be admitted to the university;
  • Have submitted your Intent to Enroll;
  • Have submitted official transcripts

Contact the Student Services Center for the department of your intended major for more information. 


Step 6: Financial Aid

If you have not done so, apply for Financial Aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Use the school code for CSU Bakersfield when prompted: 007993


Step 7: Visit Your To-Do List on myCSUB

Visit your To-Do List on your Student Center on myCSUB regularly as it may be updated throughout the admissions process.
