Academic Advising

Current CSUB Students

Registration for continuing students for the subsequent semester will be restricted if there are any existing Advising Holds or other holds on student's accounts.

Individual Appointments

Current CSUB pre-nursing students are encouraged to meet with the pre-nursing advisor at least once a semester to determine general education, prerequisite, and cognate course completion and BSN program eligibility to apply. Students currently attending CSUB as Pre-nursing and students seeking a "Change of Major" to Nursing, may schedule an advising appointment via email at . Include your CSUB ID Number and the reason for your appointment in the email.

Group Advising Sessions

Group advising is conducted every semester during the campus-wide academic advising period. Please check your CSUB email for the semester's newsletter and details about scheduling for a group session.

During the regular academic advising period, current students must attend a group session to have any advising holds released, discuss application planning, and to explore courses for the subsequent semester. Registration is not done during group advising. Students are expected to self-enroll into recommended classes during their appointment registration date/time.

Walk-In Advising

Walk-in advising is not for academic planning purposes.

Walk-in hours are unavailable until further notice. Please email the Department of Nursing to schedule an individual appointment.

Non-CSUB students

No advising availability--must attend an Information Session

Individualized appointments are reserved for current CSUB students only.

We request that those not currently attending CSUB, review materials on the CSUB Nursing website and/or attend an information session to learn about requirements upon applying. Information Session details, dates, and RSVP instructions can be found in the Prospective Applicants section of this website.

Attention: Students who are a Registered Nurse with an Associates Degree in Nursing and would like to pursue a BSN should view materials for the RN-BSN program.
