Program Overview

The Liberal Studies degree requires a broad-based liberal arts experience. Four of the five Liberal Studies emphases are designed to satisfy pre-teaching credential requirements. These emphases prepare students for passage of the subject matter examination that candidates must pass in order to receive a credential required to teach in grades K-6 in the public schools. Because the Liberal Studies teacher preparation emphases prepare students for a state licensed credential, requirements may be changed by state mandate at any time.

Each one of the links below will take you to a short description of the Liberal Studies Emphasis. For further information, please call the Liberal Studies Offices at(661) 654-6807.
