Runner Alumni Mentor Program

The Runner Alumni Mentor Program, established by the Alumni Association in 2018, pairs up CSUB alumni and other professionals with current students and recent graduates who need help with such things as choosing a career path, drafting a resume, interviewing for jobs and networking.

We matched about 64 pairs of mentors and mentees for the Spring 2019 semester, our third mentoring cycle. Each mentor-mentee relationship develops differently but generally, we ask each pair to meet up at least once a month and attend our professional-development workshops and mixers.

This fall we are expanding from a semester-long to academic year-long program to give mentor-mentee relationships more time to develop and to add programming. We are also opening the program up to people who've graduated from CSUB since May 2017.

If you're interested in being a mentor or mentee, please fill out an application below. The deadline to apply for the 2019-2020 academic year is FRIDAY, AUG. 30.

Mentee Alexis Torres and her mentor, CSUB President Lynnette Zelezny, share the story of their relationship and what Torres learned.
