Supervised field experiences in community agencies concerned
with the promotion of human well-being through the application

Psychology 497—Cooperative Education (1-5 units)
Sponsored learning in a work setting that is integrated with the
academic setting. In other words, receive pay while doing your
Applied Experience. Students must obtain permission for this
from the Applied Experience Coordinator, Dr. Tanya Boone. To

Psychology 481—Directed Research in Psychology (1-5 units)
Work with a faculty member on a research project. To enroll, the
student and faculty supervisor must complete the appropriate
paperwork and submit it to the Applied Experience Coordinator,
Dr. Tanya Boone.
Psychology 498—Directed Study in the Instruction of Psychology
(1-5 units)
Get hands-on experience with teaching by working with a faculty
member as a teaching assistant. To enroll, the student and
faculty supervisor must complete the appropriate paperwork and
submit it to the Applied Experience Supervisor, Dr. Tanya Boone.

Psychology 395—Seminar in Applications of Psychology
In addition to completing the Applied Experience, students are
required to complete this 1-unit, online course. The purpose of
this course is for students to discuss their experiences, and to
explore issues of ethics in the Applied Experience. Some details

This course is credit/no credit

The course occurs on
WebCT, with no class meetings

You must complete this course the same quarter you do your
Applied Experience. You will be signed up for it at the same
time you are signed up for the Applied Experience

If you choose to earn Applied Experience credits in subsequent
quarters, you do not have to repeat this course
-
If you do not receive credit for 395, you will have to repeat
it. This means you will also have to repeat your Applied
Experience!
