maximum likelihood estimation, method of moments; derivation of sampling
distributions and their properties; unbiased estimators, Fisher information;
theory of confidence intervals and hypothesis testing; power, t-test and
F-test; analysis of categorical data, goodness of fit and contingency
tables; inference for linear statistical models, regression and ANOVA
