Catalog Description
Elementary
Statistics (5 Units)
Descriptions of sample data, exploratory data analysis;
elementary probability; binomial, normal, "t", chi-square, F and
other distributions; estimation and hypothesis testing
techniques; linear regression and
correlation; introduction to multiple regression and analysis of
variance. Applications to fields including business, natural
sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Course makes use of
computer statistical packages.
Prerequisite:
(1) MATH 90; or (2) three
years of college preparatory mathematics and satisfaction of the
ELM requirement (a score of 550 or higher on the ELM).
