Syllabus

Learning Outcomes:
- Students will prepare two scenes and one monologue for the Irene Ryan
competition to be held at the KC/ACTF in Utah.
- When working with their scene partners, students will plan rehearsals,
discuss and solve creative differences, memorize lines, and interpret character
in preparation for their scenes.
- Students will work with instructors and practice how to take direction and
criticism with grace and incorporate suggestions into their performance.
- Students will perform there scenes and monologue for the Theatre Company
class and at KC/ACTF.
- Students will be required to participate in a number of workshops, attend
performances, etc. and critically evaluate the benefits of the experience on
their acting career in an oral report.
Student's Responsibilities
- To be prepared and on time
- To bring all pertinent materials to rehearsals
- To participate fully with an open mind and a sense of humor
Requirements
- One hour a week working with Zoe or Mendy
- Perform scenes and monologue for Theatre Company
- Give a 10 minute oral presentation on your experiences at KC/ACTF
- Turn in outline
At KC/ACTF (Dates Feb 9th through 13th)
- Participate in the Irene Ryan Competition
- See one Invited Play
- Attend two workshops
- See two Ryans
- Go through Design and Technology Exhibition
