PeopleSoft has partnered with California State University, Bakersfield to provide CSUB
students with the state-of-the-art in Enterprise Resource Planning software.  ERP software
will manage an organization’s financials, distribution, logistics, and human resources.  Like
all true ERP packages, PeopleSoft is completely integrated so that modules can share data
to facilitate the strategic needs of the organization.  The newest capability of the PeopleSoft
ERP system is an e-commerce system for managing e-commerce initiatives.  PeopleSoft’s
primary competitors in the HR market are SAP and BAAN.  PeopleSoft’s primary
competitors in the Accounting and Finance market are SAP and Oracle.

PeopleSoft has provided the financial, logistics & distribution, and human resource modules
to CSUB.  In addition, faculty have been provided with training so that they can adapt the
software to use in the classroom.  The current status of the PeopleSoft effort at CSUB is as
follows:

A set of excel spreadsheets has been developed that cross-references 26 HR textbooks with the
PeopleSoft exercises that are provided to faculty participants of the PeopleSoft On-Campus program.
