Acted as coordinator in the selection of an Accounting student to send to the 2004 AICPA Leadership Workshop.

Reviewed a paper for presentation at the 2001 American Accounting Association Western Regional meeting at San Jose, California.

Attended the annual Faculty Summer Seminar at Greensboro, NC on June 1-3, 2001 as a guest of the American Institute of CPAs.

Obtained a Certification in Financial Management on August 16, 1999 which is more in the field of Finance versus that of Accounting.

Developed WebCT for ACCT 303, Managerial Accounting, during the Summer of 2000 and thus being the first course for our Department to be online.

Reviewed a paper submitted for presentation at the 2000 American Accounting Association Western meeting at Salt Lake City.

Attended the annual Faculty Summer Seminar at Salt Lake City on June 3-5, 1999 as a guest of the American Institute of CPAs.

Attended the Accounting Seminar for Educators by Prentice Hall at Pasadena on March 5, 1999 to learn of the latest publications and technology they had available for teaching.

Attended the Accounting Forum at USC sponsored by John Wiley & Sons on February 5, 1999 to learn of the latest publications and technology they had available for teaching.

Attended the annual Faculty Summer Seminar at Tampa, Florida on May 28-30, 1998 as a guest of the American Institute of CPAs.

Reviewed papers, with the aid of Professor Curt Stiles, on global business topics submitted for presentation at the Western Decision Sciences Institute meeting at Reno, Nevada on April 7-11, 1998.

Attended a Fraud Prevention & Detection Seminar sponsored by The Fraud Research Center on February 26, 1998.

Attended the 1997 Faculty Summer Seminar in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 28-03, 1997 as a guest of the American Institute of CPAs.

Attended the 1997 SWAAA/SWFAD meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 12-15, 1997.

Participated in an Irwin/McGraw-Hill satellite seminar on “Teaching the Introductory Accounting Course: Choices and Challenges” on February 26, 1997.

Completed a reviewer profile sheet on Advanced Accounting, 4th ed. by Joe Hoyle for the Irwin publications during the summer of 1996 and received ackownledgement of doing so in the preface of that edition.

Completed a comprehensive Business Law course through correspondence during the summer of 1996 through Gleim Publications, Inc. which earned 48 hours of CPE.

Reviewed a paper in July, 1996 on the need for professional accountancy qualification reciprocity submitted for publication in the Multinational Business Review.

Updated computer literacy by attending CSUB course MIS 220 during the summer of 1996.

Reviewed papers on international accounting topics submitted for presentation at the 1996 Western Region American Accounting Association meeting.

Reviewed papers submitted for presentation at the 1995 Western Regional Meeting of the American Accounting Association.

Served on the RPT Committee of Major David S. Christensen for promotion to full professor in December, 1994. He is the only Accounting professor at the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Reviewed papers submitted for presentation at the 1994 Swedish Accounting & Auditing Research Colloquium.

Selected to receive a CIBEAR Faculty Scholarship Award for the Pacific Management Programs, “Doing Business with Mexico.” Conference took place at USC on June 28-30, 1993. One of only two academicians whose fee was paid by the U.S. Department of Education. All other participants were from industry.

Participated in the DCSB Curriculum Internationalization Program in February 3, 1989 and the follow-up workshop on May 12, 1989.

Elected by BPA faculty in Fall 1988 to serve on its Business Research Institute.

Provided consulting services, primarily financial statement analysis, to the O’Neill Farms in April, 1987. They are a partnership of ten farmers in the Porterville, California area.

Integrated the use of the PC 1984-85 in all my accounting courses (ACC 303: Managerial Accounting, ACC 400: Advanced Accounting, ACC 401: Advanced Managerial Accounting and ACC 600: Seminar in Managerial Accounting).

Completed “Computers for Small Businesses” course at CSUB during the Summer, 1984.

Made a presentation on “Internal Controls Today” to the local chapter of the National Association of Accountants on November 8, 1984.

Completed a “Personal Financial Planning” course with the American Institute of CPAs on September 22, 1983 for CPE credit.

Reviewed four papers submitted for presentation at the American Accounting Association’s Eighteenth Annual Western Regional Meeting on April 28-30, 1983 in San Francisco.

Participated in a seminar on “Internal Control for Management Accountants” sponsored by NAA in Houston, Texas on January 18-19, 1982 as a guest of the NAA.

Facilitated the submission of four manuscripts to the National Association of Accountants, the only ones ever submitted from the local chapter. Authored the first, updated the second, and co-authored the last two manuscripts. All were highly rated by NAA during 1981-85.

Participated as a member of the Affirmative Action Committee of the California Society of CPAs during 1981-83.

Aided the California Board of Accountancy in reviewing the content specification outlines for the CPA examination in the latter part of 1980.

Acted as a consultant to the Kershen Triticale* Company during the summers of 1979 and 1980 for the importation of triticale grain and seed into Mexico. The Kershen Company was later acquired by the Atlantic-Richfield Oil Company.
