Dr. Kristina LaGue is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teacher Education at California State University, Bakersfield. She received her B.A., M.A., Multiple Subjects Credential, and Reading Specialist Credential from CSU Bakersfield. Dr. LaGue continued her education at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she received her Ph.D. in Education specializing in Language, Literacy, and Composition Studies in 2006. Her research interests include studying the barriers to academic success for foster youth and enhancing the academic skills and college-going rates of foster youth. She is currently the Principal Investigator for Project D.R.E.A.M., a partnership with Kern County Network for Children/Foster Youth Services.
