HTML functions with CSUB Examples:
For instructions on these functions obtain a copy of Adding Home Page Enhancements from the TLC office.[I tested these March 1, 1997 but they may have been changed by the time you look at them--sorry about that]

1. HTML colored pages wallpaper and watermark backgrounds
Colors, wallpaper, and watermarks can add interest to a page
• Nice textured background and interesting academic site

2. Password protected files
Password protected files can be used for limited distribution of copyrighted materials and information that may be considered offensive to the general public
• A sample protected file with;

Name: test
Password: goforit
3. Pre-processor functions:local date, time and access counter
Pre-processor functions can add the local time, current date and a count of the nmmber of accesses to the site.
• local time, date, time and access counter--check the top of the page accessed
4. Mailto: forms
Mail to forms can be used for requests and for sending information from a viewer
• A request from a CSUB student looking for a journal article
• A paper submission form
5. Response page CGI
Response pages can be used for active dialog for classes or other purposes from a viewer
• Critical thinking dialog examining pro and con positions on an issue
6. Other Resources
• Links to web sites for HTML help and ideas
