Mainframe computers become common for business applications and education. First network, bases for later internet, for computers ARPANET tested but no general public knowledge.

Me:
Offerred a job by IBM then a business deal but rejected both--hey it was the 60s! Accepted to PhD programs at Duke and OSU because I am a "computer programmer".  I choose OSU because I had never been that far away from home, became a computer programer/research assistant for Anthropology study of HARF (Human Area Relations Files from WW II) and Disaster Research Center.  Because of the nature of the research I become skilled in earlier technology Unit Record Devices: Card punchers, Wired calculating punches, sorter counters, accounting /tabulating machines,
