Newspaper Project

Due:  First class day of second week.
A diagnostic paper to determine what you know about the Sociological perspective.  This will not be graded but will count off up to three points if not written in a professional manner and turned in at the appropriate time and place [must be turned in at class only on day due--later then one class will not be accepted].

Assignment:  Find and cut out a current news article in The San Francisco Chronicle about human behavior (crime, family, educational, religious, political, etc.) Do not use the internet to obtain an article for this assignment. One purpose for this assignment is to get class members to critically examine a newspaper.

(1) At the top right of your paper type your name, school, class, date and assignment A00.

(2) Type a paragraph in which you briefly summarize the article.

(3) Type a following paragraph in which you analyze the behavior as you think a Sociologist would (Try to answer the question "Why did this behavior occur?").

(4) On the bottom of the page type a full reference for the article using APA, MLA or the style of referencing used in the text.

(5) Turn in your paper with the article attached at our class on Tuesday. 

Papers that do not follow the above format will not be accepted.
