Steps in WEB page creation at CSUB:

Want to avoid all the steps below and just create a quick and dirty web page?  One solution is to use one of the free sources that have programs that help in creating your page and house it for free! One of these sources is: 
http://geocities.yahoo.com/
The negatives, advertisements on your web page and limited creative and technical possibilities.  While this is not a solution for an educators or professional web page, it is an easy  way to make a page available and fun as well.

(0) How the Internet works: A brief explanation (1) First Create Your WEB page.  Some Possibilities
 
NOTE: To make your web page appropriate for any web server, you should keep file names to lower case 8 characters plus extension of either "htm" or "html".
(2) Prepare for the WEB server by determining the following. (3) Transfer your web files to the web server academic or www.
Don't forget to copy all of your web site to the server; graphics, sounds, pictures and html documents. You can do this with any FTP program on a PC or Mac:
 
Images, sounds and other binary files should be transferred in binary mode, otherwise they may not work properly for the web. Click the "FTP Transfer" link, below, for details
Specifics on how to transfer web pages to the web server at CSUB can be found at: (4) After completing the transfer, start Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Explorer and view your new web home page. (5) Future changes
Make changes on your WEB page by modifying the PC or MAC version of your web materials and then transferring (FTP)the modified page(s) and graphic files to the web server to replace the previous versions.
