Problem: Connecting to a wireless connection like the library, cafeteria, student union…

1. Click the wireless computer icon in the lower right of the screen.

The following dialog box will open:

2. You may have no possible wireless connections or as in this case many wireless connections within range.

(a) Click the wireless connection you want to use. If it is “security enabled” you will need a password. In this case I am connecting to my home connection airport which is unsecured and doesn’t need a password.

(b) Click the Connect button at the bottom right of the dialog box.

(c) The following question will be displayed for unsecured connections:

(d) Click Connect Anyway

(e) Wait until your selection reappears “connected” in the dialog box like this:

(f) You can click the close box icon, you are now connected. You will be automatically connected when in range of this connection in the future.
