Project Title: The Business EDGES (EMERGENCE, DEVELOPMENT & GROWTH ENABLING SUSTAINABILITY) Project.  This summer initiated this program intended to examine the following concepts: The creation and use of strategic coherence by micro-businesses and the identification of skills, individual attributes, or organizational capabilities that enable micro-businesses to grow—i.e. for an entrepreneur to become an owner-supervisor and ultimately an owner- manager. The college provided two RAs: one MBA RA and one PhD RA.

Program Title: Open Doors High School Outreach Program. This summer program offered a college course (the Freshman Introduction Course in Computer Literacy) to students who would be attending high school in the upcoming fall. Faculty members volunteered their time (40 hour weeks for 5 weeks in June). The College provided a  Master student TA. The parents of the students paid $150 mostly for books & lunch. The excess revenues were then available to the faculty to use as travel expenses for related conferences. This second year of the program and first fully advertised program had 30 students attending.

            2007   College of Extended Learning First Friday Event: Facilitating Writing In-depth Applied Research Papers Using a Combined Face-to-face and On-line Format, 1.5 hours long, This workshop shares a process that enabled working adults to learn/relearn the research paper writing process and to facilitate their ability to transfer what they learned from doing the research to "real life". This semester-long process takes the students from individual papers to team application papers thus enabling both critical thinking and team process development as well. There is on-line support material and directions on how to use the library at a distance.
