Dr. Eun-Ja Kim Park is a Professor of the Special Education at CSUB. Dr. Park received
her Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi in Special
Education, and has done her post doctoral studies at the University
of California, Berkeley. Dr. Park also holds two master's degrees.
One in Linguistics from Seoul National University in Korea, and
another in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse.
Her areas of expertise in special education include Behavior Disorders
and Learning Disabilities.
Dr. Park has been involved in special education teacher preparation over 20
years teaching at Eastern Illinois University, University of South Alabama,
Truman State University in Missouri and since 1990, teaching at California State
University, Bakersfield. Dr. Park also taught in public school classrooms for
seven years.
Dr. Park's special research interests are geared toward the area of bilingual
special education and the educational needs of Asian American students and their
families. More recently, her research interests have expanded to the area of
assistive technology. In collaboration with public school special education
teachers, Dr. Park produced a videotape, "Jenny's Kids" which demonstrated
the progress that non-verbal infants and toddlers had made in their communication
and language skills by utilizing assistive technology. |
