Club SOC - "IT'S A PEOPLE THING"
Club Soc is the student club for sociology majors and minors at CSUB. The club seeks to foster unity and fellowship among students; to increase contacts between students and faculty; and to broaden and deepen student involvement with the discipline of sociology. The activities of Club Soc thus run the gamut from academic and education to social and recreational. As determined by the membership, resources gained from fund raisers are used to sponsor prominent guest speakers, support student involvement in professional activities, honor graduating seniors, participate in campus-wide events, and engage in other community and educational endeavors. For further information, you can contact the Club Advisor, Dr. J. Daniel McMillin, at (661) 664-2386, FAX (661) 665-6909, or dmcmillin@csub.edu
For additional information, Club Soc is on the Web at http://www.csub.edu/ClubSoc
The Applied Research Center (ARC)
ARC provides a limited number of paid rsearch assistant positions. Students who are interested in applying for these positions should have completed the introductory course in statistics, and the required research methods sequence. We are particularly interested in students who are planning to go on to graduate school, or planning a career in research. Beyond paid assistantships, ARC also provides opportunities for students to engage in research leading to paper presentations at conferences.
For more information you can contact myself or Dr. Kenneth Nyberg.
