As president of Cal Council in the last two years, I have tried to get teacher educators to become more proficient with technology. I have established a web site for it with Project TNT and arranged for Apple Computer to provide services to the semi annual conferences. Cal Council Executive Secretary Alan Jones acknowledges this in a
letter of recommendation 3.5.1
For renewal in 2005
After serving as president of Cal Council, I served as past president for two more years. In this capacity, I mentored the new president and continued to try to raise awareness of technology issues among teacher educators.
Project TNT continued through spring 2004 and I just received formal notice that the feds consider it concluded and archived. The TLI is active until this June. As these projects wound down, I sought further funding for other technology projects. I assembled a variety of partners for these proposals, ranging from NASA to Apple Computer to the San Francisco Exploratorium. Unfortunately, none of them were funded. Each proposal included multiple letters of support. You can see the proposals below:
NSF Informal Science Education 2004: Everybody's Science Portal letter of intent -- not awarded
NCLB California Math Science Partnership 2004: Project Aim for the Stars not awarded
PT3 Proposal 2003: Project Opportunity To Learn 75 awards advertised; 25 granted; -- not us :-(
NSF ATE Preliminary Proposal 2003: Project ASAP budget narrative -- not awarded
FIPSE Preliminary Proposal 2003: 21th Century Guild of Teachers -- not awarded
NSF IES Character Development letter of intent 2003 -- LEA declined to participate Resiliency ppt
